Will any of Long Beach Transit's GE40LF's be heading for the scrapyard as well? I thought I read somewhere in the news that the State of California was making it illegal to operate trucks and buses that were manufactored prior to 2010? I know climate change is real and I don't deny it but I think it's disapointing that old buses have to go.

I'm not sure yet

Carey Charter in Austin, TX recently acquired around 15 2200-series buses.  The only ones known right now are 2208, 2232, and 2233.

Are these purchased used from the bus dealership in Texas including AM/FM Radio sound system? Are these equipped with the spare tire and bottle jack under the bus?

If they got about 15 of them in Austin TX, maybe they'll set up a contract with UT-Austin and provide campus shuttles.

Yikes! I’m not sure if that bus is totaled or not but assuming the damage to the drivers side it might be totaled

From what I am seeing it looks like GE40LF units 2417, 2419, 2423, 2424, 2503, 2515, 2705 and GE40LFA units 2910, 2912, 2918 might be retired as they haven’t been in service lately

And one of the driver's car (Silver Dodge Charger) is badly damaged and later caught on fire later in the evening when the car was loaded on the flatbed wrecker from the accident scene.

CapMetro, the transit agency in Austin, already provides campus shuttle routes.  For right now, these buses are used for a hospital shuttle in downtown.

A few weeks ago, I was able to tour the yard.  They only got 10 buses instead, and I can confirm they got 2204, 2207, 2208, 2212, 2213, 2215, 2221, 2232, 2233, and 2235.  I've included photos of 2207 to show what all the buses look like currently.
