I thought I read somewhere in the news that the State of California was making it illegal to operate trucks and buses that were manufactored prior to 2010? I know climate change is real and I don't deny it but I think it's disapointing that old buses have to go. I'm not sure yet

If they got about 15 of them in Austin TX, maybe they'll set up a contract with UT-Austin and provide campus shuttles.

I’m not sure if that bus is totaled or not but assuming the damage to the drivers side it might be totaled From what I am seeing it looks like GE40LF units 2417, 2419, 2423, 2424, 2503, 2515, 2705 and GE40LFA units 2910, 2912, 2918 might be retired as they haven’t been in service lately

CapMetro, the transit agency in Austin, already provides campus shuttle routes. For right now, these buses are used for a hospital shuttle in downtown. A few weeks ago, I was able to tour the yard. They only got 10 buses instead, and I can confirm they got 2204, 2207, 2208, 2212, 2213, 2215, 2221, 2232, 2233, and 2235. I've included photos of 2207 to show what all the buses look like currently. 2
