The North American Bus Industries 416 (also known as 40-SFW) is a 40 foot high floor transit bus. It was based on the 415 model by Ikarus in Europe. The 416 was originally produced by Ikarus USA in 1989, then American Ikarus from 1992-96. The welded steel structure is phosphated internally and externally, coated internally with anti-corrosion material, and coated with epoxy externally. The underfloor area is undercoated, as well as insides of roof and side skins to prevent drumming and condensate formation. Wheelhousings, stepwells, main electrical compartment and battery compartment are stainless steel. The 416 is available in two or one door configurations and choice of wide or narrow doors.

In 2008, NABI introduced a redesigned 416 with a sleek front, redesigned side windows, and different rear. Its appearance is similar to the redesigned NABI 40LFW.

In March 2014, NABI had removed the 416 product from their recent updated webpage. This marks the end of high floor bus production for NABI after completing their final NABI 416 2nd Generation Restyled order for NJ Transit.
