These buses run out of the Eastchester, JFK/Far Rockaway, and LaGuardia garages.

History

9272-9387 were purchased to replace all remaining 2006, 2007, and 2008 OBI Orion VII (NG) HEV buses, as well as many of the 2009 (1), 2009 (2), and 2010 OBI Orion VII NG HEV buses. They are largely identical to the 2021-2022 XD40 order, featuring full-length roof fairings.

In preparation for Eastchester to receive their allocation, some 2015 XD40s from LaGuardia were sent to Eastchester for driver training beginning in March 2023.

The first unit #9355 was delivered to Eastchester on October 13, 2023. It entered service a week later on October 20, 2023 on Route Bx23. LaGuardia received their first two units (#9274 & #9275) on February 7, 2024. They entered service shortly after, with 9274 seeing serving on the Q33 on February 12th. On March 8, 2024, JFK received their first three units (#9313-9315) with their first unit entering service on March 20, 2024.
