  1. I've often wondered the same thing too ! There's scads of us transit enthusiasts. I see people taking bus/trolley/LRV pics all the time while I am out and about. Or sometimes a driver will tell me he/she had his/her pic taken and was wondering if it was one of 'the gang' taking pics.
  2. Cool your jets, Microbus. My aunt is in Alberta Hospital. Lots of major league power lines up that way (the kind with the baubles on them), but alas, no contact wire and no trolleys. My aunt should be coming out of the Alberta Hospital and into Long Term Care as soon as there is a vacancy somewhere. She should have been properly assessed / diagnosed long ago but my mom did more harm than good by trying to cover things up about my aunt and telling the medical professionals that everything was OK.
  3. I thought I saw you too. On Friday right ? I got on at Clareview at 1701 (after taking the Route # 184 from Alberta Hospital at 1646 and arriving at WCLV at 1655).
  4. Excellent. I trust the driver was pleased with your recommendation.
  5. So on Thursday, mid morning, when the sun was out, Mitchell Service comes out to JPC with their truck to change shoes on the trolleys. And what are they putting on....Steels !!! Orders from GHQ. Dennis is flipping out, there is NO frost on the lines...why the heck are the service people putting on steels ? Fast forward to Sunday early morning. Service is putting carbon shoes on the trolleys going out. Mitchell phones WW. WW says there is no frost so go ahead and put carbons on. What the heck ?!?!?! Dennis says on his drive to work there was a good coating of frost on the lines. Dennis insists on steels, but NO, WW says to put on carbons, so carbons it is !!! "What a haywire outfit" says Dennis as he sadly shakes his head in disbelief and bewilderment. So anyhow, not even a trip goes by and he radios in to request a shoe change. Control calls back to arrange a changeover as this is easier to do. (Since when has changing a bus over at the garage been easier and/or more efficient than just having a guy on a ladder with a bucket of shoes) ? Dennis had Unit # 144, and it was an awesome bus. I don't know what he got for a C/O, but he was not alone, Unit # 180 got swapped for Unit # 4326. What a haywire outfit is right !
  6. Yes, you should be able to get a number change. Get call display and if you don't recognize the number, don't answer it. Recall the number from your phone and call it back from a land line (which won't waste away your minutes). Tell the person they had the wrong number and to delete it from their electronic phone book (or wherever they have it stored).
  7. Then there is someone else OUT THERE.... Whew ! Bet that makes you happy
  8. Day run guy Don Fleming ? (Looks like Roddy McDowell from Planet of the Apes). Maybe it was you that I over heard that had Doctor's orders not to drive a 2XX.
  9. Why would YOU signing the same thing make the day run guy happy? HIS run is the same as YOUR run, only the shift numbers are different. He reports at 0544 and is out at 0557. You take over the same run at 1218. OR do you have special equipment status whereby you can ONLY have a 4XXX ? I can see that making the day run guy happy. But I thought special equipment status could only be applied for two weeks at a time ? I heard one guy say he was only allowed 2XX, Jimmies and trolleys. I nearly fainted when I heard that.
  10. Yes. They have trolleys there I think, or at least they have them very close by. Hey Microbus ! Did you sign the same thing ? Or did you sign something with 'ears' this time around ?
  11. Scaffolding is up in the TC area. (I have pics of this which are up now). Also a crane was there today (sorry didn't get pics of this). There is also some structure on the north and south end. I say structure, because it looks more superficial and decorative than actually being part of the 'shelter'. I'll take more pics on the weekend. For now, here's the scaffolding, as promised......
  12. Maybe you can scan and post them. That'd be awesome to see. Nice Avatar. Looks like by the museum in 1999 for the 60th Anniversary. (I was there too !)
  13. If it were a two hour RT you wouldn't have been as late as you were
  14. If you'd gotten two hours late you'd be back on time Run 13502 and Run 309 both ended up with jammed retrievers and are running on one retriever. (Amazing the number of trolley drivers that have to borrow knives from passengers because they aren't carrying a knife on their person...they should have their EIW Multi-tool !) James ! Are you posting pics from your work computer ? How on earth is that possible ? We're not even allowed to stick disks in our computer, or attach those cords that hook up to the camera. Heck, half the websites or things I click on come up with 'Access Denied' or 404 Error. (and it's all legit stuff too).
  15. A lot of smaller schools, like Dev. Studios (where my kid went) qualify for Post Secondary Passes, but they aren't in the UPASS project.
  16. What a coincidence, I spotted da Microbus at WTC this afternoon. "Funny how that works!" Kelly had Unit # 181, Janice had Unit # 124, Run 504 had Unit # 121, Marty had Unit # 102. All of the Trolley Troopers (with trolleys) were on time each time I saw them (after work, after swimming, and while out and about on MY Friday night). Laura Lee had a D40LF and spent a couple of trips getting progressively later. Ken had Unit # 128 on Run 12006 and was on time at 101 Street and Jasper Avenue WB at 1356 and 1840. I told him I was waiting for Pally. He assured me that Pally would be along right away. I told him that from my observations of the Route 1's so far that if Pally shows up 'on time', it'll be because he's early for tomorrow. Pally had Unit # 4504 on Run 109. He got his bus on time at JPC NB. By the time he got to 75 Street and 90 Avenue on his Route 4 trip, he was -45. He was -35-40 when I boarded his bus at 101 Street & Jasper Avenue WB. By the time we got back Downtown he was only -30. I ended up catching rick on Unit # 198 on my way back to WTC.
  17. Get Well Soon. I hope you can make it to the meeting tomorrow.
  18. Apparently whatever was obstructing Fox Drive has now been cleared up according to my source which provides the latest and greatest every minute
  19. The River Valley gets CRAZY when there is a snowfall. OK James, settle down
  20. It sure looked strange, two D60LF's pulling into the 5 Bay last night.
  21. Hey T6H-5307N ! How about a couple of Ride Guides from 1993 ? If you want you can meet up with Ashton at 1600, he has my cell number. I plan to catch Laura Lee on the Route 5 at 1600 at WTC. Although my plans are not definite, depends what time I get in / out of the pool.
