Metropolitan Transportation Authority 4950-4964 are 2019 New Flyer XE60 buses. They are the MTA's first articulated electric buses. They started arriving in October 2019 and the first buses entered service on December 19th, 2019 (4950, 4951) on the M14 SBS routes. Delivery to the NY Area was quick, it took a while for all buses to be delivered to Michael J Quill, with the last bus (4961) arriving in July 2020. Originally, they were used exclusively on the M14A and D SBS routes, before later being "reassigned" to the M60 SBS. In spite of these "assignments", the XE60s will generally run on any of Michael J Quill's crosstown SBS routes.
These buses sport a hybrid of the SBS and Electric Bus liveries, with "Electric Bus" decals overlaid onto the base SBS paint scheme. Some buses later received promotional stickers on both sides of the bus touting their zero-emissions capabilities.
