Matt Demers Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 For those who have a car who wants to busfan, where is a good place to park for free or for a fee at/around stations in Montreal? If they are for a fee, how much is it per hour? I know the AMT ones at Namur, Angrignon and Radisson, but what about others like streets? -- NAMUR AMT PARKING Enter behind Le Chateau on Jean Talon Ouest by turning right then going behind the store. Parking is free. CARREFOUR ANGRIGNON Park near the Sears and Ultramar then take the 106 or 195 to Angrignon Metro. I would reccomend only parking for 2-3 hours and only for busfanning at Angrignon. LIONEL-GROULX Park on St. Jacques east of Atwater. At one point the reserved parking (permit required) ends and free parking begins.

The Montmorency station in Laval has free outdoor parking and payable indoor parking. the indoor parking used to be reserved for monthly pass holders but that's changed. I'm not sure of the fee I think it's in the vicinity of $7.00 per day. Also the Longueuil station is 100% pay only I think theirs is $5.00 but please, don't quote me on either of these prices. On the other hand, you can always park at a close by AMT train station. If your busfanning on a weekend, you could head to Du Ruisseau or Bois-Franc stations on the Deux-Montagnes line, both of which are pretty empty on weekends. If you're busfanning during the day, you may want to arrive there before 7:30 AM. Dorval or Pointe-Claire also come to mind on the Vaudreuil line. if you're planning to busfan outside of Montreal, you could park at an AMT bus parking lot outside the city many of them have frequent all-day service like Chateauguay, Terrebonne, Repentigny and Brossard (Panama). You may also want to check out the Boucherville Park and Ride, it's brand new (opened in November) and doesn't have very many riders according to recent news reports. Alex
eclair14 Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 Longueuil has rise up their price dramaticly up to 8.00 (if i remember) For free ... there are also Radisson on the green line that offers free parking

Alex Actually, Montmorency is $6.00 a day and it is filling up pretty quickly (before 7h00 AM). You best bet in Laval is the AMT Carrefour Laval Free Parking (500 places) + You take one of the STL bus at 2,50$ (Cash) to Montmorency or (2,25$ with tickets). The following buses goes to the metro from Carrefour Laval Métro Montmorency 39 Auteuil 42 De la Concorde / Lévesque 50 Saint-Martin-Est 56 Saint-Martin-Ouest 61 Fabreville 63 Cartier / Sainte-Rose 70 Cité-de-la-Santé 903 Express Gare Saint-Dorothée via Fabreville Métro De la Concorde 42 De la Concorde / Lévesque 63 Cartier / Sainte-Rose Métro Cartier 60 Saint-Martin / Des Laurentides 63 Cartier / Sainte-Rose Métro Côte-Vertu 902 Express Le Carrefour-Côte-Vertu
SMS Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 Close to Du College, there is a huge parking lot that I like to use as a park and ride. No hints!
kellergraham Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 Close to Du College, there is a huge parking lot that I like to use as a park and ride. No hints! I believe that would be the parking lot for my office building... Alex
SMS Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 Are you pissed? As Dawson says, "No sign, no fine!"
kellergraham Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 Are you pissed? As Dawson says, "No sign, no fine!" HA!!! No I'm not. I don't use the parking lot there, and with the massive amounts of layoffs that Loblaw has had the past year, there's plenty of room to spare outside. Perhaps I could make a business proposition to the president! Apparently there's "supposed" to be surveillance there checking that you have the proper parking pass in your window........ Alex
SMS Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 Oh yeah? They don't advertise that on the light poles - just says camera surveillance. I also park close to the other cars so that it is not conspicuous.
matvail2002 Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 Close to Du College, there is a huge parking lot that I like to use as a park and ride. No hints! Are you talking about the Décarie Expressway at five in the afternoon? SMS Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 I hate the Décarie! The Décarie family must be pissed off to have that horrible expressway named after their estate. Didn't they sue the City of Montreal? Anyway, kellergraham pretty much pointed the park and ride out for you guys... I prefer it to Namur (anything to avoid the Decarie circle) Montmorency INTERIOR one must pay.
glaframb Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Are you talking about the Décarie Expressway at five in the afternoon? It's weird, I just parked last saturday at Montmorency for free in the exterior parking. The external parking (P5-P6-P7-P8) at Montmorency is free, but you have to pay 6$ /day or 80$ / month if you park in the interior parking at Montmorency (P1-P2-P3-P4).
