The Brebeuf one isn't a sunday stop. It says something on it about school trips or something to that effect.

Correction to my previous post - the goal is to hire 100 fare inspectors. Source: http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2014/08/08/ttc_wants_to_put_some_pop_in_your_streetcar_ride_with_alldoors_boarding_by_jan_1.html

I'd wonder if they'd patrol in groups of 4, at least for the Flexities? That way they could board every entrance on a streetcar at once so no one could exit out of an unmanned door
-
They are building a dedicated team of fare inspectors, starting with 20. They will begin on August 18 on 501 and August 31 for 510. The intent is to increase this significantly thereafter. Prior to any indication that the whole streetcar system was going to go POP at once, the medium term plan was to boost the number of inspectors to 60. This is only being advanced on some routes like King, Dundas, Carlton and St Clair. It was already planned for the short term for Spadina, Harbourfront and Bathurst. If it actually only cost them hundreds of thousands of dollars, that'd be cheap considering how much delays cost. That said, they actually expect the fare evasion rate to drop by aiming to inspect 4-5% of all fares (source: http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2014/08/08/ttc_wants_to_put_some_pop_in_your_streetcar_ride_with_alldoors_boarding_by_jan_1.html) This is well overdue. While the time savings won't be huge, anything that will help relieve the problem of people clumping near the front door of the car would be really wonderful.

Possibly to differentiate them from the Transit City LRVs if/when they arrive?

When the 60 bus platform was shuffled to a new platform at Finch recently the signage said it was for the arctics
-
Don't they already have too many T1s with the TR order?
-
Yup - that's the cost of being 'efficient'

Ford can't fire anyone on the board. The board can hold it's own vote, and the board can change chairs, but council can just replace the board. They'll need to call another special meeting to do so, but they will almost have to do that. They may also need to replace the Striking Cmte. and the Executive Cmte, but that's just as doable.
-
John Parker will likely also vote yes. Jaye Robinson may or may not. So it could be as high as 26.
-
From what I've read, they will probably need call another special meeting to replace the Striking Cmte (or strip it of it's powers), replace the TTC Board (I expect Karen wants to be chair again for her hard work), and replace the Executive Cmte.

Wow, money is suddenly falling from the sky.

I believe the breaking strength is all computer calculated based on what standees can handle

Interesting article on the legality of this move: http://www.yorku.ca/ddoorey/lawblog/?p=4550

They're installing them on the street at stops with more than 500 boardings/day. There's a sign at the mockup that indicates that
-
I don't think they are (until ATC). Steve Munro previously posted this: "Work is now underway to reinstall College crossover, and this will continue over coming years with Rosehill and King. Separate work is required to rearrange the power supply because the crossovers are now breaks between power sections on the subway. New breaks must be added roughly a train length north and south of each crossover so that power can be maintained on both sides of a crossover when it is used as a turnback point. This work will not be done until the end of the project when the new signal system comes online, and the crossovers will not be available for use until then."

Gotcha. I thought I'd read January, and a quick Google Search revealed Steve Munro said that. I thought I'd heard differently prior to his article, but I don't recall where I read that. Link: http://stevemunro.ca/?p=4948

Wasn't there supposed to be a mockup ready in January?

How many times does it have to be said that collectors are injured workers. The TTC would need to pay them regardless.
-
At the very least there wouldn't be any overtime which the TTC relies upon reasonably heavily now..
