Hey everyone, to keep up with the retirements of the OCTA New Flyer C40LFR, I provided a separate thread so we know which ones are retired at the moment, and which ones are still active presently. The replacements for these buses are Gillig Low Floor Plus CNG buses all to be delivered by next year at the time of writing.

7529 might be retired as it hasn’t entered service lately. 7529 has the distinction of being the first New Flyer bus built with a Cummins Westport ISL-G.

Meanwhile, 5751 and 5752 are now with Keolis Irvine Base, 5753-5770 are now with Keolis Anaheim base along with 5840-5845

So recently, for some reason what seems like that some retired units have been tracked recently, is a glitch. Notably units 7543, 7572, 5123, 7564 and 7566

Likely transponder reuse. "7572" is actually 7558, and "5123" is actually 7579

That makes sense actually. No wonder why I see 5123 is tracing on Main St

So looks like on March 8th there will be reauctions of some C40LFRs

Auction date:

March 8, 2024: 5539, 7543, and 7553

Update: 5613 has been re-activated likely as a replacement for 5619, 5540 is back in service after maintenance

Recent retirements for C40LFRs include likely the rest of the remaining 5600s from Anaheim base. They haven't been tracked since February 17th. Additionally, 7502, 7504, 7506, 7508, 7509, 7511, 7514, 7517, 7518, 7519, 7521, 7522, 7523, and possibly 7576-7582 are getting decomissioned.

Unsure about 7585-7587, 7589-7592 though but most likely going to get decomissioned as well

So looks like Anaheim has finally retired the rest of their 2007 C40LFRs (besides the Keolis Training units), and Irvine is to follow. The 2008 C40LFRs will still be around, all the 2007s have been retired from the contracted divisions. As a result, 5853-5857 and 5775-5779 have been shifted to Anaheim. Units 5753-5757 that were previously at Anaheim are now at Irvine.

Updates: 5129, 5540, 7557, 7561? and 7570 have been retired
