Airport authorities say there were 37 passengers plus the crew aboard when the Air Canada JAZZ jet touched down on runway 6. There are no injuries reported. The jet is now parked on a nearby taxiway. Both the runway and the taxiway are closed, pending an investigation by the Transportation Safety Board. CityNews.ca will continue to update this story. Landing gears do not retract while on the ground because there is a mechanism that prevents it from happening (squat switch on undercarriage detects if the aircraft is on the ground or not), and it is almost impossible to mistake the landing gear knob for the flaps control.
