This is a summary of regulations concerning personal photography on the property or vehicles of transit systems. Personal photography may be allowed on systems highlighted in red, but permission from the agency is required.

Anything can be photographed by anyone for any purpose if it is visible from public property.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority YES, personal Rules of Conduct 1050.9 c. Photography, filming or video recording in any facility or conveyance is permitted except that ancillary equipment such as lights, reflectors or tripods may not be used. [3]
Metro Transit YES Policies & Guidelines Although response from email correspondence indicates that one can not arrange to take photos at the garage, there is no by-law restricting photography. [4]

(7) Subsection (6) does not apply to the following:

(a) the operation by a person of any camera, video recording device, movie camera or similar device on a transit vehicle where such operation is for personal use; or

(b) the operation by a person of any camera, video recording device, movie camera or similar device on a transit station platform area where such operation is for personal use.
