Thanks Peregrine , I will be going through the google and yotube recommendations, I guess hard work is the only way !!! Ypu guys are awesome thanks everyone for supporting each other.

Thanks Libra , I haven't started my prep and  job shadow yet but from next week i will be doing it. Sure I will let know if I crack any codes but it seems like you are on the right track ;)) and yes Good luck to both of US!! and every one as well . Btw I was in the am for the test.

Making friends with someone from or near your info session is also good ;) Just do your routes for the job shadow, prep for the interview and be yourself. @Libra Don't read too much into it; we're people helping people first. If they wanted computers, we'd all be out of a job.

Just got the training call this afternoon! Starting July 10th for subway (Yonge/ University/ Spadina line)

Anything I should read up on before I start training? Any tips would be appreciated! :)

I was hoping for bus at first but I think I will get to like subway lol.

Good luck to everyone waiting for their calls!

Congrats, but you got my job assignment and I got yours!

Hey guys applied for operators position, consecutively 5 years, got through this year. went for an info session on May 24, passed the test, interview on July 5th, job shadow still to do 5 routes.  any suggestions on interview any recommendations for an interview. So Excited!!!!

Hi @jayjay, congrats! It sure feels good to get that interview email! My recommendation for your interview is to Google and YouTube "behavioural based interview questions." The STAR interview format. Bring a bottle of water and arrive early to your interview (super important!). None of us on here really had much help other than the Google and YouTube suggestions; we all worked hard to get where we are, yourself included. Clearly, they think you're a good-calibre candidate to interview; the interview is your chance to prove it to them.

Just wondering, are operators placed on the spare board as soon they pass the training?

Hey @NuggetRocket,  @Wallace89 and I had our documentation the week after yours; March 27th. I figured we'd be spare board to start. Can you keep us posted on your experiences? We figure we'll get the call pretty soon. Can you pm me your badge number and I'll pm you ours?

Hi long time lurker, just joined thanks everyone, wonderful team on  this board.

Finally got the email after many many many years of applying. Aptitude Test and Information Session: March 29th 2017.

I went through the boards as best as I could but I am confused as to how does one qualify for subway or streetcar or are the majority of graduates placed in bus roles due to operational needs as I heard bus needs are always higher? Would it be fair to not get excited about being placed in streetcar of subway as its so rare yet my dream:lol:

As far as timelines go from information session to training date, I've gathered the norm at 5-6 months (from what Ive read and heard) but have heard it happen as quick as 6 weeks? What would the ballpark figure be for an estimated timeline? It would be beneficial to know as time is needed to give up current employment, deal with family matters, etc.

Thanks so much!! Looking forward to hearing from everyone.

@LocomotiveZen congrats on your information session! You are assigned to a mode and work location based on the needs of the business. I wouldn't hold my breath for subway or streetcar; even though streetcar is my preferred mode.

As for a timeline; my info session was on November 15, 2016 and I am going for my documentation on March 29th. I would say 5-6 months is a good ballpark for a timeline. As for your current job; the TTC gives 2 weeks notice before your training starts, so don't quit your job unnecessarily early.

    Hope this helps.

I ended emailing ttc hr and was asked to obtain a SIN confirmation print out. So I ran to the nearest Service Canada to get it printed out. Just needed a primary photo ID, citizenship card, passport etc...and a long waiting time. thanks for the help guys.

Thanks a lot for posting @NuggetRocket. I went right to Service Canada after reading! My documentation is March 29th, same as Wallace :)

@ilxfan Congrats! On the conditional offer it says you must maintain an acceptable drivers abstract until your training date starts. If you dont have any demerit points deducted, you should be fine.

Yeah @Wallace89, 10 over is no sweat. Technically, you can do 20 over only once (3 demerit points) and you'd still be good for employment. The TTC is connected to the MTO and they'll run an abstract check after documentation. Just go the speed limit for the next year and you'll be good. I'll do the same lol.

    congrats! @Sanya

Hey guys, I've been following this thread since Nov 2016. Hopefully my timeline will help those who are currently in the application process. I had my medical last Monday and received my Police Clearance Letter on the same day when I checked my mail that evening. Patiently waiting for the documentation call right now.

    Applied Online                                Nov 1, 2016
Info Session Invitation                     Nov 7, 2016
    Info Session                                    Nov 16, 2016
Invitation for Interview Email            Dec 9, 2016
    Interview Date                                 Jan 23, 2017
All References Contacted               Jan 25, 2017
    Conditional Offer                            Jan 30, 2017
    Medical                                           Feb 6, 2017
Police Clearance Letter Sent          Feb 7, 2017
    Documentation                               Pending
    Training                                          Pending

Are we supposed to get confirmation that we passed the Medical or is no news good news?

Good luck to everyone in the application process right now!

@Wallace89 we have pretty similar timelines (same info session); I just got my police clearance tonight. I was hoping this timeline would continue being speedy, but it seems as if we could have a bit more waiting ahead of us (not that I mind).

    Hey TTC_Man, thanks!

My interview was last week, January 16-20 and my references were contacted during the same week. As for insight, triple check that you have everything that was asked of you in the interview email. I googled "behavioural based interview questions" and it really helped me prepare because some of the ones I practiced were in it. Bring water too, that was a suggestion at the info session and it was a big help. Good luck on your interview and just remember, you got yourself to the interview and only you can prove to them you have what it takes.

    Hey KG724,

I have been watching this forum for past 2 months and now finally you have mentioned that you were in Orientation Session on November 15th, 2016. I am also in a similar boat as yourself. I had my info session on November 16th and I just received an email for an interview yesterday, January 12th, 2016 for Feb 03, 2017. Hope this helps.

I am also looking for any help I can get in regards to the interview and what it entails.

I was at the November 15, 2016 info session too. I've completed my interview and I'm waiting to hear back. Fingers crossed!
