Metro Transit (Minnesota) 8020-8025 are 2021 Gillig BRTPlus 40' (G27D102N4) buses. These buses are identical to the 8000 series, 8012, and 8013 series with the only differences being the addition of USB chargers mounted behind forward-facing seats, as well as different seat fabric and Stop Request button design.

History
Metro Transit assumed operations of the METRO Red Line, a rapid bus line running from Mall of America to Apple Valley Transit Station on Cedar Avenue, from the Minnesota Valley Transit Authority in December 2020. During the transition, the original fleet of Novas that operated on the route were retired as all except one of the units exceeded the 500,000-mile federally-mandated useful lifespan (the remaining unit was transferred to First Transit and operated until August 2021).
The fleet was ordered in February 2021[1], delivered in late September 2021, and briefly entered service in late October 2021, operating on the Red and A Lines.
As of January 2022, service on the Red Line is provided by seven buses from the 1750 series, which are wrapped in the METRO livery.
The buses were speced with a modified kneeler that allows the bus to raise to a 14-foot platform level for level boarding on Red Line platforms.
8021 and 8022 were spotted at the Gillig plant in September 2019.
