Imperial Valley Transit's 19000 series/100, 101, 103-105, 107-109 were 1988 Gillig Phantom 40' (40102TB6V92T) buses. They were originally purchased and operated by Laidlaw Transit Services for BART Express service. In mid to late 1997, BART Express service ended. The buses transferred to various agencies operated by or contracted by Laidlaw, including Imperial County Transit circa 2001-2003. The buses were operated First Transit after Laidlaw's contract ended.
Refurbished units
These units were refurbished by Complete Coach Works and renumbered from their 19000 series fleet numbers in 2005. Their replacement engines were 2002 model engines. They were repainted into the current Imperial Valley Transit branded livery.
