  1. I'm wondering if anyone besides me has a favorite bus/engine/transmission combination because of the way it sounds? Obviously a lot of us are fans of screaming two-stroke Detroits, but does anyone have another one they personally like? For me, it's a Nova Bus Classic with a Detroit Series 50 and an Allison B400R transmission. In this case the transmission is heard much more prominently than the engine, and I find the B400R's whine under acceleration very pleasant to listen to. Calming, if you will. My local system had such a Classic, until it was retired in 2014 when the transmission failed. 3:10 in this video: Trent
