  1. I believe that the liability is now on the drivers shoulders as in the past a passenger could exit the coach without the driver having the final say. There have been occasions where a passenger was caught in the rear door and the driver left the stop with the passenger dragging.
  2. Wow Thank you for the memories. The bus looks in really good shape. Looks like a some what new paint job too.
  3. Having been an employee of ETS in 80-84 I remember a bus we called "The Info Bus". This coach was parked in the last row of Westwood for many years. Too many things went on it that coach to mention but does anyone here know the coach I am talking about and was it a Brill? Forgive me as I was only 19 at the time I was a service man there. I will scan some old pics when we had the ETS rodeo.
  4. Happened to me once on the "take home bus" around 3am. Going down 137th ave I thought we were making a left turn at first untill I realized we were sliding. Hit a power pole just behind the front doors. Driver was throwen into the stairwell but got up and stoped the bus(GM). Boy did that ever light up the night sky! Fact is after a point there is no controlling your slide, just hold on.
  5. Not sure if the CNR was the problem with this going through or not. They are pretty tight with their rail lines. Too bad as having traveled many a mile on Edmonton's LRT it is a great system. We appear to not look at our traffic problems too far into the future here. The Metro Center is a perfect example
  6. The colour palette is very basic but there is no guessing which coach line it is. Looks very smart indeed.
  7. As a new member forgive me if this has been discussed in the past. A few years ago I heard Peter Kelly talking about leasing rail line along the Bedford Hwy from Bedford to Halifax as a possible LRT line. Has anyone heard of this or was this just talk in the wind? Would make alot more sence if there was parking at either end. I have heard of a Water ferry for this area, will it happen?
  8. Hello all and what an interesting board. I reside in Nova Scotia now but in 80-84 I worked in the service dept usually in Westwood barns. It is really interesting to hear all about the new coaches and the "fish Bowls." Back in my time with ETS the drivers hated the Flyer as it had an extra full revolution from steering lock to lock. I see things have changed alot and I look forward to learning much more!
