  1. Thunder Bay's latest batch of NovaBus smelled kinda like cat urine when the arrived.

Thats a strange smell for a new bus

@Double-T: I wouldn't recommend lighting up anything--cigar, cigarette, joint, or other--in any bus. In fact, I wouldn't recommend lighting up anywhere, for that matter :(

Hahaha, the only thing i light up is a candle, or a mini cigar & i only do that at my house. The TAG fragrance might work, when i was in high school two people were playing tag by spraying that stuff at one another. That smell stayed on the 3rd floor of the school for about a month, maybe that will fix the foul smelling buses :)

The new enviro 500s 'new bus' scent is quite nice. Still havent rode the STO's new LFSs so i still cant take sides :P I should sometime next week

  2. Hot & cold is one over played here on 89.9, 88.5 was playing time to pretend for a while, but they started playing some songs by sam roberts, most of his songs are real good. PM me for the list of good sam roberts songs, + other new rock songs.. those will get stanky leg, soulja boy, disturbia, hot & cold out of your head garenteed.

  3. I find too that new LFSes stink! Some RTL 2008 buses still smell like it. It think it comes from the glue used to hold the bus together. I find it doesn't smell like a brand new car at all. It reminds of what STCUM New Looks used to smell after someone (probably the driver) urinated in the back door stairs. I remember when Classic were new, even the GMs, and the smell was more pleasant.

I got the best fix for it, late one night on coming home the 2nd last 95 aka the 'vomit comet' :P i seen a passenger who was sober couldnt stand the smell of vomit, he ended up lighting a cuban cigar on the bus . He got away with it believe it or not. It did the trick untill it got some nice interior detailing. I personally wouldnt recommend trying this in the greater montreal area, from what i heard those cops dont joke around. I've even whitnessed on this 'vomit comet' a group of people smoking a joint on the bus. Anything is better than smelling vomit on the OC buses.

  4. Now we're in the BFxx series. I've seen some BFEx xxx plates.

I prefer my AY series plates over any new B series plates

I have a set of alberta plates circa the mid 80s, the numbering/lettering says '77-C308' Can anyone tell me if these would be issued for? They are on the 84-current base

  5. Manotick had two illuminated ones, osgoode had the old 50s styled ones, barrhaven has four old 60s signs still believe it or not, thisledown @ malvern, Foxhill way might still have a real old pre-nepean sign still, & i know kanata has a few illuminated ones that are still working

  6. Well 'technically' they are

    BUT!!

I can't access that part. You guys have to remember there are certain parts of the OC internal site I can access and there are other parts that only OC employees can access they are available

If you go to post # 22(in this thread) you'll se what available to chooswe from. You'll see a list, now I can access some of that list others I can't. as to what is exact in those parts or what exact info is available this I don't know as I don't have access to that info

Also I do believe the list is update 3 or 4 times/dayy

    early morning

    mid day(after rush hour)

    Afternoon(rush hour)

    night(after rush HGour)

So depending on when I print he list it maybe different or I'm guessing thats the way it is.

Like I said I'm not eaxctly sure how the list are made up like

are bus in for repairs on the list?

    The plug instaion?

recent retired buses ie last ime I printed the list they still said the 8700 series classic where at ST Laurent South but where till active but all know there not so I'm not sure how the list work exactly?

I didnt know the list gets updated that frequently, still amazing that you can access it. Looking forward to the next lists :)

  7. Just like why I say one of V and Y should not be used, because they look waaaaaaay too similar.

I know, my plates start 'AY' & i know someone who has 'AV' they look way too similar, maybe a different die for the letter V can fix that

  8. I personally dont mind but i havent been on a brand new nova so i wouldnt know their new bus smell. The inveros & D60LFs(6351 & up) were ok, the Orion VIIs were decent too, I havent been on a new LFS so i cant pick sides. All 'new vehicle' smells are different, some better than others.

  9. Thought it would be available at the push of a button.

    Thanks for the response!

They probably do for certain employees but you would require an access code to get into it.

Only real high end executives, city council, & other high authorities with the city can possibly get that.

I'm looking forward to the next bus placements, these come in very handy in most aspects. I was told by a driver i knew that the AM/PM trippers go out, do their runs, then go back in. The times they depart & go back in the garage would be handy but you cant win them all, the run numbers & route info works amazing too.

  10. Still going ahead with that, though if 8792 lasts longer I might end up replacing the D40HF charter with this bus. After all, a 6V71N combo would be neat to have, considering the next charter after would be a fishbowl.

Good idea but the bus will have to be inspected thoroghly. This means constant searching & constant riding to determin if its charter worthy or not

  11. Just curious, is there any carpools coming from Toronto that can detour up the 416 to Ottawa to pick me up? If there is then maybe I can go.

I am willing to pay for the extra cost of detouring up to Ottawa.

If Wright can hitch a ride i may join back in depending on how much room is in the carpool that accepts him & their prices

  12. You can get a Focus from Hertz for $26.50 or a Malibu for $30.

I think you have to be 25 & carry a full 'g' license for hertz, i know thats the way for avis, enterprise, & discount

I have one trick left, if it dont work i'll have to bail for sure

  13. I understand.

Are you able to rent a vehicle with the class of permit that you have?

I am just wondering since in Quebec you need to be either 25 or have a permanent licence, one of the two, I can't remember.

If you are in a position to rent, there are many reasonable agencies, some rent for just 20$ a day IIRC, your choice of vehicle.

uhaul is the only one i can see letting me rent a truck from, its just getting the funds thats the issue

  14. That means a total of 5 people are now OUT.

I will have re-evaluate the initiative at this point.

Is there any other way you can get to Montreal, can anyone else get a vehicle?

What about a Car Pooling service?

Please try to do anything in your power to make it out.

The red car that you rode shotgun in is unable to do a long trip like that, its in rough shape

I'm looking into getting a uhaul pickup truck or some kind of rental but the rates might be insane so i should let you know by saturday if i'm still in or not
