Metropolitan Transportation Services 4254 was a 2012 Nova Bus LFX 40' bus. It was used on the METRO Red Line BRT service operating between Mall of America and Apple Valley. After Metro Transit assumed operations of the Red Line in December 2020, 4254 was transferred to First Transit and ran on Route 705.

History

4254 was initially ordered for Minnesota Valley Transit Authority for the METRO Red Line, Minnesota's first bus rapid transit line. It served on the Red Line until December 2020, when Metro Transit assumed operations. 4254 was then transferred to First Transit and operated on Route 705 until August 6, 2020.

The rest of the buses in the fleet were retired on December 5, 2020 because of their difficulty to maintain and that every other bus exceeded the federally-mandated useful mileage. They were auctioned off in February 2021 in Glencoe, MN.[1]
