The Girardin Minibus MB-II is a type-A school bus offered on both Ford and GM chassis with single wheels on the rear axle. The bus can be equipped with a wheelchair lift. The MB-II is available in a commercial bus version which features greater seat pitch, more comfortable seating, and more amenities.

In October 2009, Blue Bird and Girardin entered into a joint venture named Micro Bird. This move consolidated Blue Bird's type-C and -D product line with Girardin's type-A product line. Girardin's buses are known as Micro Bird by Girardin.

At the 2014 National Association for Pupil Transportation trade show in Kansas City, Missouri, Blue Bird introduced MB-II on the Ford Transit chassis. Known as the Micro Bird T-Series, it is available in single or dual rear wheel configurations. The new chassis and body combination offers improved maneuverability and reduced weight. The roof was also reshaped and shares its aesthetic with Blue Bird's other buses.
