During AM peak hours, express buses ran from 41st Avenue & Carnarvon to Downtown Vancouver and during PM peak hours, express buses ran from Downtown Vancouver to 41st & Carnarvon. This operation arrangement applied to all 22 trips during peak hours, with the [[Coast Mountain Bus Company route 2 'Macdonald / Downtown'|2]] providing local service along Cornwall Avenue.

Towards downtown, trips ran as a local service until Macdonald & Broadway. From here, stops were made only at Macdonald & 4th and Cornwall & Yew and Cornwall & Cypress, before continuing into downtown stopping at all stops and then resuming the regular 22 Knight routing.
