Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County 1400-1449 were 1984 Crown Ikarus 286.08 buses. These were Houston METRO's first articulated buses. They were constructed between 1984 and 1985, with delivery taking place in the Fall of 1985.
They were also the final Crown Ikarus 286 buses to be constructed in the United States. Because of the problems with these buses, METRO retired these buses early in 1997, replacing them with Neoplan articulated buses. They were the only Ikarus 286 buses, aside from the 1977 prototype to be fitted with single headlights.

Details
- Five units were built in suburban configuration.
- Most, but not all units had Voith transmissions.
- Some were fitted with Alcoa rims.
