Edmonton Transit System route 9
Edmonton Transit System route 9 is a bus route operated by Edmonton Transit System.
Route 9, One of Edmonton Transit System's busiest routes, is a mainline route that runs from Eaux Claires Transit Centre Via Northgate Transit Centre to Southgate Transit Centre via Kingsway Transit Centre and the downtown area along 101 Street. This route also serves Old Strathcona, Kinsmen Sports Centre, Telus Field, Alberta Legislature Building, Victoria School of Performing & Visual Arts, Royal Alexandra Hospital, NAIT, North Town Centre, Northgate Centre and Namao Centre
When overhead wires were still intact at Southgate, trolleys ran trips on route 9 during the peak hour from NAIT to Southgate.
A study by Masters of Planning Candidate Annika Hui in November 2005 recommended that the trolley network be extended to Northgate and that E40LFs and E60LFs be operated on the entire route 9, to increase cost efficiency.
