Route Details
During weekdays, additional service operates between Northgate Transit Centre and Downtown, looping via Macdonald Avenue and 102 Street. Extra trips operate in the AM peak northbound only from Southgate Transit Centre to 101 Street and 103A Avenue.
From Eaux Claires Transit Centre, buses operate south on 97 Street to Northgate Transit Centre, south on 97 Street, west on 117 Avenue, south on 101 Street, south on Bellamy Hill Road, west on 97 Avenue, south on 109 Street, west on 57 Avenue, and south on 111 Street to Southgate Transit Centre. Buses in the opposite direction operate north on 111 Street, east on 57 Avenue, north on 109 Street, northeast on Walterdale Hill, and north on 105 Street to 97 Avenue, then follow the reverse routing to Northgate/Eaux Claires.
During the early morning hours (approximately 12:30 to 3:30xm), route 9 extends south to replace the Capital Line LRT. From 109 Street and 63 Avenue, 9 OWL buses operate west on 63 Avenue, south on 111 Street, looping through Southgate Transit Centre, and south on 111 Street to Century Park Transit Centre. Buses in the opposite direction follow the reverse routing.
Route 9 serves the neighbourhoods of Beaumaris, Griesbach, Northmount, Glengarry, Rosslyn, Killarney, Delton, Westwood, Alberta Avenue, McCauley, Downtown, Old Strathcona, Queen Alexandra, Allendale, Lendrum Place, Pleasantview, Malmo Plains, and Empire Park. The OWL extension also serves Royal Gardens, Greenfield, Duggan, Steinhauer, Sweet Grass, Blue Quill, and Ermineskin.

- April 25, 2021: service removed from 106 Street, no longer directly serving NAIT or Kingsway/RAH; service on 106 Street replaced by new route 102. Minor rerouting in south end, now using 57 Avenue instead of 61 Avenue to cross from 109 Street to 111 Street.
