havox
Hi all, So after 4 years as a bus operator I've decided to make a switch. I applied to Rail Transit Car Mechanic trainee about a month ago and went through the tests and had a video panel interview last Wednesday (November 2). On the Friday (November 4) I received and email telling me that I am progressing to the next steps and they required 4 references from me. I provided them and now I am waiting. Anyone here gone through a similar process? How long did it take for them to contact the references, mine have yet to be contacted. As an internal hire, I find it strange that they would ask me for professional references as I have been working with the company for 4 years already haha. I also had to provide references from my previous job and not supervisors/managers from TTC as I have not formed any relationship with them as an operator, hopefully that will be acceptable. TransitMotorcoach
I too find it extremely bizarre that they would ask for references for an existing employee applying internally. Wouldn't it be more than enough to pull the employee file and look over the history of employment within the TTC to determine suitability for the position?
