Facilities: *Back on October 7th, 2013 CAT opened the Joe Murray Rivers Jr. Intermodal Transit Center to be the hub for all downtown fixed routes. It is located at 610 W. Oglethrope Ave. Savannah, GA 31401. All other associated components under the 900 E. Gwinnett location also goes along with the ITC. Roster: *0406: This unit is on loan to CAT from Coach Crafters based in Tavares, FL. Coach Crafters awarded a contract in 2015 to rehabilitate 14 of their fleet's vehicles. The unit is ex Palm Trans, but not sure of the exact fleet number. *0604: This unit at Coach Crafters being rehabilitated. *0606: This unit is currently out of service due to engine failure. It will return to service once Coach Crafters rehabilitates it. *0607: This unit is currently at Coach Crafters getting rehabilitated. *0610: This unit is currently at Coach Crafters getting rehabilitated. *1601-1602: These units were ordered in 2014 and arrived in July of this year (2016) to be placed on the DOT shuttle. These are straight diesel (Cummins ISL9), but I'm not sure of the transmission yet. In time, these will relieve 0601-0602 from the shuttle, and they will be put back on low ridership routes and eventually rehabilitated. *3007: This unit is currently at Coach Crafters getting rehabilitated. *3027: This unit has been rehabilitated by Coach Crafters and arrived August of this year (2016) complete with a new floor, rebuilt drivetrain, Q-Pod tie down system, new paint, and a host of other services. Here they are: *The 2012 Goshen GC IIs fleet numbers are 1201-1204. They have 6.6L Duramax Diesels on a Chevrolet G4500 Chassis. *The 2015 Goshens ARE ACTUALLY 2014 Goshen GC IIs numbered 1402-1403. They are in fact branded for the Liberty Parking Shuttle. These also have the the Duramax Diesel 6.6L engine on a Chevrolet G4500 chassis. ? Paratransit Roster *1001T-1006T: These are 2010 Eldorado Aerotechs on a Chevrolet G3500 chassis and has the 6.0L gas engine. Unit 1001T was damaged and removed from service and unit 1006T is retired. *1110T-1123T: These units are 2011 Eldorado Aerotechs on a Chevrolet G3500 chassis with the 6.6L Duramax Diesel. *433-438: These units are 2014 MV-1s from Motor Ventures. They have gas engines. *1610-1614: These are 2016 Goshen GC IIs on a Chevrolet G3500 chassis and has the 6.0L gas engine. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Gillig1109 Posted October 18, 2016 Author Report Share Posted October 18, 2016 Good evening ?, I have some additions to the Chatham Area Transit Roster: Destination Signs *Unit 406 has the Twin Vision Amber LED. *Units 0901-0902; 0903-0911 have the Twin Vision Amber LED (CAT lists this as the Twin Vision Smart Series). *Units 1101-1109 & 1110-1114 have the Twin Vision Amber LED as well (CAT also lists this as the Twin Vision Smart Series). *Units 1201-1204 &1402-1403 have the Twin Vision Amber LED. *Units 1601-1602 have the Twin Vision Silver Smart Series. http://www.catchacat.org/_meta/files/RFP_2012-06_Addendum_2.pdf Seats *ALL Gilligs, with the exception of unit 406, have the American Seating 6468 model. *Unit 406 has the American Seating Metropolitan model. Other Updates *Units 1601-1602 have Allison B400R transmissions. *Unit 0911 is currently out of service due to engine failure, but not retired. *Unit 3023 is currently out of service due to engine failure, but not retired. *Unit 0604 has been rehabilitated by Coach Crafters as seen here. Routes: *3 West Chatham runs Monday-Sunday, not just Monday-Saturday. *75 Prowler has been discontinued due to low ridership. Fleet: *0601-0605: Units 0601 and 0604 have been rehabilitated by Coach Crafters. Units 0602-0603 and unit 0605 are undergoing rehabilitation at this time. *0606-0610: All units in this block have been rehabilitated by Coach Crafters. 3001-3031: Units 3007, and 3027 have been rehabilitated by Coach Crafters. Unit 3005 is undergoing rehabilitation. *Units 3001-3031 were delivered new with Twin Vision Amber LED destination signs (back in '02-'03). *Units 1601-1602 are 29' Gillig Advantage Trolley Replicas. Some interesting notes on the refurbished units: 1. ALL refurbished units have new paint, similar to the 2011 hybrids. 2. Units 3007 & 0604 have EMP Electric Cooling Fans.Every other unit THUS FAR has came back with their hydraulic cooling fan. 3. Gillig1109 Posted May 13, 2017 Author Report Share Posted May 13, 2017 New Bus Orders *CAT is currently on a state bus contract for the purchase of 26 new paratransit vehicles. The name of this contract is unknown at this time. *CAT is also on a state bus contract for the purchase of 3 all-electric 35ft. buses. *CAT will be receiving a brand new Gillig sometime in December of this year to "show off" for the Georgia Transit Association's 2017 conference December 6th-8th at the Hyatt Regency in Savannah, GA. *In May 2018, the other Gilligs will hit the assembly line and 30 days later, they will arrive to CAT in increments of 5.
