Can-Ar's Haliburton service has resumed using the Oshawa Bus Terminal as a stop during the weekday trips heading northbound. Weekend buses and all southbound trips continue to use Centre Street just south of Bond (Outside Wilson's Furniture)

When I was Downtown last week, I saw one of the 16 Novas, and the left side engine cover's already rusting!
They did operate during the winter. Water, salt and metal tend to not mix very well, alas rust. I'm not too sure what material Nova uses for parts such as hatches and doors, but it's metal, it rusts, regardless of how well the bus is maintained.

Will any stations have a bus bay? If so, maybe the TTC can bring 2252 and 8058 if they're finished by then.
Sheppard West would have a few
VMC, but I doubt they'd be able to bring them out that far. Plus, I'm not even too sure of their status in the rebuild.

I don't go to Wonderland, so you could see how I wouldn't've known on this one. Thanks though!

It's an hour ride minimum to the falls, walk across the Rainbow Bridge, and then work out the schedule for the Fort Erie Shuttle over near Optimist Park.
If I can work around a Greyhound schedule, it's only about $3.00 to Fort Erie, and then working out the schedule from Princess and Waterloo station.
I might be able to shave a couple hours back and forth doing it through Peace Bridge crossing.
If I manage to have a couple hours extra in Fort Erie, I can maybe take lunch in at Happy Jacks (around the corner from the bus terminal at Fort Erie).
3 bucks huh? That's not too bad.

Being that I'm over the border in Buffalo, I'd like to get over there and check out the system before the changes.
Why don't you take the 40 up to Niagara Falls and walk across?

Yes they have, it would be really hard to take it off.
From the pictures Jared provided, the inside is relatively unchanged. Still has "8050" with the two 0's horizontal to make an 8, and all the DRT info signs.

and I'm wondering if they'll transfer some more vehicles to Fort Erie from the Billy Bishop contract (maybe one of the 2016 EZ Rider BRTs) when these changes occur.
I think that would all depend on if the Airport shuttle could go to lose a bus or two.

I rather wait until the line is open and I can just fan everything all at once without Kybosh getting in my shots.
Even with the line open, the kybosh who's parents didn't let them attend Doors Open will be there.

Some here that were "quick to jump the gun" and report that 8153 & 54 were retired without a credible source. I can confirm that they are still in service. Rode both within the last few days, 53 last night on a northbound 401

Would the bridge the 60 goes under to get into wonderland pose a height restriction? Or is that entrance even used anymore?

I think it's the entrance and exits, the road slopes up to the sidewalk, that's what I can think of.

I think all the routes out of Oshawa can use DDL's except 92. So maybe they'll get a few for that route but I'd guess not as many as the ones that serve routes where DDL's can't go.
Yes, correct. But SuperLo's? I was under the impression Yorkdale & York Mills were able to fit them.

Go Transit has an option to order an additional 150 SuperLo double decker buses once the 253 have been delivered.
I think they are most likely going to continue sticking with ADL especially with the seating capacity needed on some routes. Along with lower passenger carrying costs since they can accommodate more people than the MCI coaches.
Will any SuperLo coaches move east to Boundary? It would be interesting to see more of them on the East corridor routes.

It's nice to finally see some consistency in DRT destination signs. Worth noting as well that they seem to have dropped directional indications - e.g. "Bayly" instead of "Bayly East". Of course, the "East" was always subject to confusion, so this seems simpler and ultimately more reliable.
I also notice that 900 is showing "Pulse - Hwy 2", which neatly sets up the future Pulse Simcoe route.
FY: All routes have had their signs stacked in the new format.
I'm all for a Simcoe Pulse service, if that means the branding will be expanded to other regional routes in the future - Taunton and Rossland in particular.

Bus 1175 was being towed back east on the 401 today in Pickering. Assuming it's had some work done out here and is heading back to Cornwall?

if it was full
it has
60'-85
40'-38
40'-54
40'-103 and then the 107 on top of all that
I doubt that they will add another bay for the 107, it would be a waste of money. Where would they even put another bay? Think about these things before you ask. If it was really an issue, the 103 and 107 could have different departure times, or the 107 could stop up by the 38, or even the westbound 54 stop on Lawrence, hell, why not just stack them? There is layover space at Rouge Hill, the bus doesn't have to lay up at the platform. 2018 is still a year away, after all.

It's been less than a month, it would be unfair to base one isolated incident on their performance. From my experience out in Whitby thus far, I have found a much better morale amongst drivers. Stop scapegoating Pacific Western for problems exceeding their control.

I kind of get the feeling that one long route from STC to Downtown Oshawa will result in bunching of buses at either ends of the route where traffic congestion is at its highest, and might cause riders to opt for GO bus routes 92 or 96 as it would be more reliable. Adding a branch from STC to say White Oaks? or Salem even would maintain a consistent service across the entire route.
Why not have a semi-express branch from Oshawa to Port Union, then continuing onto Scarborough Town, via the 401? Along the same setup of the 501/501A ZUM service in Brampton. Alternate the trips, with every.. 2nd or 3rd? bus heading to the Town Centre. Not only would a express branch take off some of the pressure from the local, it would also render the service on the 92 redundant. I feel like riders would be discouraged by transferring if it ran from Salem or White Oaks. Bunching could be curbed by the bus skipping local stops (i.e Gibbons, Chapman stuff like that) Just a thought for discussion.

Didn't see a fitting topic to put this in, so I decided to create a new one.
4 CN cars jumped the track on the CN portion of the Oshawa GO area.

But why would you want to combine the two in the first place? It seems very long and drawn out to service Finch, Beaver Creek, Aurora and Newmarket in the same route. I don't see the combination garnering more ridership than it already has, not to mention, I believe that "walkable to E&W Beaver Creek would discourage riders that enjoy the convenience. The only people benefiting from this would be the current riders of 300 & 320. No new riders to Aurora or Newmarket from Finch would be enticed due to the convenience of the Blue "A" and 98E.

Anyone know if the next batch of SuperLo's will continue right after the delivery of the end of this batch (8337)? Or will there be a break between delivery of that vehicle and the first of the next batch?
Does anyone know how the next batch will be utilized?
Right through. There's no expected break in delivery.

At that point I can't help thinking that making it a rail service is a little overkill.

30 minute frequencies seem really low for such a short route. Considering how much existing track it uses would I be correct in assuming it runs with DLRVs?
Consider the ridership that it would possibly garner. 30 minutes is more than enough to start out.

A rusted engine cover doesn't affect service quality, it's an easy fix. Industrial strength CLR? Lol.
