  1. Essentially same with me, most were 30 minutes but I knew one of the OPs and stayed on for a coupl hours. They're really only looking for the 30 minutes to ensure you can follow instructions - you can be exact just don't do anything less .
  2. Passed final day 27 streetcar training today! Training was an amazing experience and I think I just made friends for life with the 8 other training partners. I feel like I've known these guys for 5 years instead of 5 weeks. The instructors were all great people too. Looking forward to the next 30 years
  3. It will be around 600 again this year I'm told. I just wrote my final test for streetcar at Russell and they already have aother class scheduled behind me. Final road test next Wednesday for me and with division trainers in revenue service until then
  4. Yes that's a very good sign; my friend went through the interview but was not asked to sign the police form and did not get the position ultimately. Both my partner and I were asked to sign the form and we both got in.
  5. Documentation is a group meeting (mine had a dozen other candidates) where you sign off on all the final paperwork i.e. Polices, insurance, etc. You must bring your ID, void cheque, clear police check and a new drivers abstract. You get fitted for a uniform and make your uniform selections as well as get a photo taken for your employee pass. You will be assigned an employee number that day. You do not get a uniform that day, it's only a fitting. They also give you reporting instruction for your first day of training but cannot tell you when that will be (you will be notified at least two weeks before training).
  6. Yeah it seems to be speeding up. My friend applied in January, info session in feb - has already had his interview and reference checks and is just waiting on conditional now. Yes starting on a Tuesday is strange, wasn't expecting that.
  7. I'll give you all my dates so you can get an idea: September 7, 2015 - Application Submitted December 8, 2015 - Information Session January 20, 2016 - Interview January 27, 2016 - References called February 2, 2016 - Notice of passing interview February 3, 2016 - Conditional Offer signed February 8, 2016 - Medical Assessment February 18, 2016 - Police Check received March 24, 2016 – Documentation May 3, 2016 – Training begins – Streetcar Russell
  8. Russell is a Carhouse (Queen at Connaught) and has many different streetcar routes - I live downtown east so this is very convenient. I absolutely adore the new streetcars with their new cockpit like areas for operators - so looking forward to that too when they finally all roll out.
  9. Just got my call!!! Starting May 3rd and unbelievably got exactly what I wanted; Streetcar at Russell!
  10. That's excellent I really have my fingers crossed for streetcar at Russell but I understand the chances are probably slim since most postings are to bus.
  11. Nice, so exciting! Did you want bus and is Wilson close to home?
  12. Congratulations! What mode did you get and when will you be starting? My call should be coming soon, you had your documentation the week before me(mine was March 24th).
  13. LOL! You're right though, it's quite hard to answer all 50 questions correctly within 12 minutes. I did about 30, favouring quality over quantity and I passed. They don't expect you to finish everything.
  14. No, since I don't even know which mode will be assigned I don't think there is a point. If I get bus, I may pick up a MTO book for air brake studying beforehand. I have several friends who are operators and none of them studied before training. From what I understand, we just have to pay close attention, do the homework and we should be fine.
  15. Congratulations! You're another step closer. Documentation is next, remember to send an email with a copy of your police clearance to your recruiter.
  16. Just got it normally within 4 weeks, you'll probably have yours in a week or two if there are no issues.
  17. Yes, my Documentation was last Thursday March 24th. Good luck with your process.
  18. It will probably come soon. I know being patient is so incredibly hard; even though the process is going smoothly for me the weeks feel like months.
  19. It took 4 weeks from my interview for the police clearance to come in: January 20, 2016 - Interview February 8, 2016 - Medical Assessment February 18, 2016 - Police Check received
  20. We'll that's great if it is, but even Toronto Police officers get something like 75% of their average of the best 4 years for their pension.
  21. Ok thanks Andy. I have one more question - what percentage of your income in your best 4 years is the full pension calculated on? I have heard 100% from two operators but that sounds too good to be true.
  22. Does anyone know if married/common-law couples who work at TTC have the ability to coordinate their schedules through HR? I heard there is a form to fill out which allows couples to work the same hours - can anyone confirm this?
