As part of the proposed redevelopment of the nearby Oakridge Centre, there are plans to expand the station to accommodate the increase of passengers at the station in the near future. Upgrades to the station include the demolition of the current stationhouse and building a wood and glass canopy that would cover the station entrance and a redone station plaza.
