Timeline

  • 1974: Mississippi Coast Transit Authority created by the Mississippi State Legislature to provide public transit services to Gulport-Biloxi metropolitan area. Prior to its creation, there was an approximate three year absence of service, in part due to Hurricane Camille, cited as the second-most intense tropical cyclone to strike the United States on record. Prior to Hurricane Camille, service was provided by Municipal Transit Lines.
