Acadian Lines, a subsidiary of Orléans Express, was a Canadian coach operator based in Moncton, New Brunswick. They operated intercity bus service between New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. In addition, Acadian Lines connected with Orléans Express in Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec and Greyhound USA in Bangor, Maine.

History

Acadlian Lines was founded in August 1938 as Nova Scotia Coach Lines. It was renamed Acadian Coach Lines in 1947. The Nova Scotia-based coach company provided intercity and charter service within the province. Acadian acquired the bus operations of Fleetlines Limited and Highland Lines in December 1955.

In December 1995, the Irving Transportation Group-owned SMT (Eastern) acquired Acadian Lines and its charter coach company Nova Charter Services. The three companies operated under the Acadian Lines brand beginning in 2003.[1] Orléans Express purchased Acadian Lines in March 2004. However in August 2012, it was announced Acadian Lines would shut down after it was no longer deemed profitable. The last day of operations was November 30, 2012.
