The Van Hool A330K is a 30 foot transit bus for the North American market. It is similar to the A330 in that the drivetrain is mounted at the rear on the offside, however it has a reduced front overhang and reduced overall length. The "K" stands for "kort" which translates to "short" in English.
The Réseau de transport de la Capitale (RTC) of Quebec City will be the launch customer for the A330K in North America. In March 2016, the RTC announced that they have awarded Van Hool a contract to supply up to 32 diesel-electric hybrid powered A330K midibuses.[1] They will operate on the route 21 which passes through historic districts of the city. This route will once a again be served by smaller buses. Prior to January 2015, this route was operated with more compact, fully electric minibuses.[2] The RTC placed the new A300K Hyb buses into service on March 7, 2018.
