An 'Aurora South' route was first operated by [[Aurora Transit]]. This was later absorbed into [[Newmarket Transit|Newmarket Transit's]] operations, and was named A2 Aurora Centre Plaza. Finally in 2001, A2 was taken over by [[York Region Transit|YRT]], and was renamed 32 Aurora South. It had a much different route, and was more north-south orientated than the current east-west operation. 32 ran from Aurora Centre Plaza roughly south-west along Wellington and Yonge to Henderson, and along McClellan, Bathurst and 15th Sideroad to Seneca College.

In September 2005, the future introduction of [[VIVA Blue]] and [[York Region Transit Route 33 'Wellington'|33 Wellington]] forced a major change to both route 32 and [[York Region Transit Route 31 'Aurora North'|31]]. 32 was switched to run along Wellington from Bathurst to Bayview, now looping along [[York Region Transit Route 54 'Bayview North'|54's]] Stone Rd. loop. This rerouting also allowed the replacement of the [[YRT Aurora/Newmarket area GO Shuttles|Aurora GO Shuttles]], routes 220 and 221.

In 2007, ridership increased due to increasing student activity at G.W. Williams.
