Seattle Transit System

History

• In 1973 the Municipality of Metropolitan Seattle, a separate governmental agency formed to manage transit and wastewater treatment in King County and in 1994 merged with King County government to form King County Metro Transit, acquired the city owned and operated Seattle Transit System and the privately owned Metropolitan Transit Corporation.
