Route Details
This is a north-south NightBus route connecting Dunbar Loop and Downtown Vancouver, running primarily on Macdonald Street. Service runs daily every 30 minutes, with three trips in each direction, in the late-night hours in lieu of regular 2 Macdonald service.
Northbound trips depart Dunbar Loop heading east on W. 41st Avenue, north on MacKenzie Street becoming Quesnel Drive, east on W. King Edward Avenue, north on Macdonald Street becoming Point Grey Road heading east, then Cornwall Avenue, north on Burrard Street and across the Burrard Street Bridge, then east on W. Georgia Street to W. Georgia Street & Granville Street.
Southbound trips depart from W. Georgia Street & Granville Street heading east on W. Georgia Street, north on Homer Street, west on W. - Pre-2001 - Service operated as an Owl Service component of the 22 Knight/Macdonald, running as 22 Macdonald/Dunbar Loop from Downtown to Dunbar
- October 2001 - All Owl routes cancelled due to funding shortfall[1]
- December 2004 - Service introduced under NightBus branding as N22 Macdonald–Dunbar/Downtown NightBus, running seven nights a week with three trips in each direction.[2] First southbound trip terminated at Dunbar & 41st outside of Dunbar Loop
- April 2006 - Service revised to terminate at new bays on Howe Street between Georgia and Hastings due to construction of the Canada Line and rerouted to serve Dunbar Loop for all trips.[3] Downtown terminus revised from to Pender & Howe instead of Pender & Granville
- June 2018 - Downtown routing revised following the consolidation of NightBus routes to the NightBus District at Vancouver City Centre. Downtown terminus revised from Pender & Howe to W. Georgia & Granville. Routing revised to go via Burrard and Georgia to terminus, then Georgia, Seymour, Pender, Burrard instead of via Burrard, Hastings, Richards, Pender to terminus, then Pender, Burrard
