Route Details

The routing of route 147

Route 147 was a regular route that ran through the former CFB Uplands base in Ottawa South. Route operated to the EY Centre every 30-60 minutes from Monday to Friday until about 10 PM., and hourly on weekends until about 7 PM.

History

September 5th, 1995

  • Old Route 147 will be renumbered as Route 117.
  • New Route 147 will be a local route serving CFB Uplands and buses will operate 7 days a week through the Base then via Hunt Club to Greenboro Station at the Transitway.

August 31st, 1997

  • Saturday service hours will be reduced to operate between 10:00 AM and 7:30 PM.

September 6th, 1998

  • Weekday service will operate hourly except in the AM peak toward South Keys and the PM peak toward the base when service will operate every 15 minutes.
  • Saturday service will be reduced to an hourly basis, but several trips will be added in the morning and evening to extend the service hours.

August 29th, 1999

  • Route is revised to travel via Uplands, Research, and Royal Route in a one-way loop to provide service to the NRC facilities.

June 27th, 2004

  • No Sunday service.
  • Alternate service is available on Hunt Club Road on Routes 87 and 116. This was due to major budget cuts in the city’s operating budget.

September 4th, 2004

  • No service after 7 PM Monday to Saturday and no Saturday service before 9 AM. This was due to major budget cuts in the city’s operating budget.

June 26th, 2005

  • Service after 7 PM, Monday to Friday, and from 9 AM to 7 PM on Sundays is reinstated.

December 19th, 2010

  • Will be reduced to operate every 30 minutes, instead of every 15 minutes during weekday peak periods to reflect current ridership levels.

April 22nd, 2012

  • Modified to serve the EY Centre.

June 28th, 2015

  • No service on-site at the EY Centre weekday mornings.

April 24, 2016

  • The last weekday trip leaving Greenboro Station at 10:15 PM is cancelled due to low ridership.

June 25th, 2017

  • Route is renumbered to local Route 197 in preparations for the launch of the O-Train Confederation Line in 2018.
