The Optare MetroCity is a midibus tailored expressly to Transport for London specification. It was launched at the 2012 Euro Bus Expo. The bus shares its integral stainless steel structure with the Optare Versa. Notably different are the front fascia and flat instead of curved passenger windows. The MetroCity's front, a derivative from the Optare Tempo SR, has a reduced overhang.
