MiWay 1201-1215
MiWay 1201-1215 are Orion 07.501 EPA 2010 buses built in 2012.
In October 2010, a tender was issued for the supply of 15 40' BRT diesel buses. New Flyer, Nova Bus and Orion responded to the tender as follows:
- Orion - $6,510,000 plus HST
- New Flyer Industries - $6,665,535 plus HST
- Nova Bus - $7,466,970 plus HST
With Orion having the lowest bid, they were awarded the contract in January 2011. Delivery began in July 2012, and the buses began entering service in late August 2012.
These buses feature Orion's Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) exterior styling, which consists of a more streamlined destination sign enclosure and roof fairings extending from the front to the rear of the bus.
The interior features 38 4ONE Aries passenger seats with Holdsworth Fabrics CAA321 "Cream/blue sixties" fabric. Individual reading lights and power outlets are located throughout the interior. A folding wheelchair ramp is located at the front door of the bus. Rear doors are passenger operated utilizing Vapor's CLASS sensing system. All Windows are flush mounted and of the tip-in transom design manufactured by Arow Global. Heating, ventilation, and cooling are provided by a roof-mounted Thermo King Athenia unit.
Beginning in 2022, all buses in the MiWay fleet had unprotected forward facing seats blocked off or removed. These changes reduced the seating capacity from 38 to 35 seats.
