Durham Region Transit Raleigh Division
Raleigh Division is one of two operating divisions of Durham Region Transit. It primarily operates routes in Oshawa and Clarington.
The garage is located at 710 Raleigh Avenue in Oshawa, ON.
History
The garage originally opened in 1964 to house the Oshawa Transit operations of the Oshawa Public Works Commission. It was expanded circa 1978 to increase capacity. Ownership of the garage was transferred from the City of Oshawa to Durham Region upon formation of Durham Region Transit in 2006; it became the "DRT East" Division until being renamed to Raleigh Division in 2008. GO Transit leased storage space until they opened a new garage nearby on Boundary Road.
In the early hours of August 16, 2023, a major fire broke out inside the garage, resulting in the loss of approximately 19 buses.[1] The division reopened on August 26, 2023.
