The Alexander Dennis Trident 2 (usually just known as Trident) is a 2-axle low-floor double-deck bus chassis. It was launched by Dennis in October 1997 and replaced the Dennis Arrow. The Trident was inherited by TransBus International after the company's formation in 2001 and then by Alexander Dennis after they were formed in 2004. Production had begun by the start of 1999 with the first examples going to Stagecoach London.[1] Production of the Trident ended in 2006 when it was replaced by the newly developed Enviro400.

The Trident chassis had the engine mounted transversely at the rear. Drop-centre axles allowed for level boarding and a floor that gently sloped up to the rear. The chassis supported bodies of various lengths ranging from 9.9 metres to 11.4 metres.

The Alexander ALX400, Plaxton President, and the East Lancashire Coachbuilders Lolyne/Myllennium Lolyne were available on the Trident chassis. The former two manufacturers would eventually become part of Alexander Dennis.
