For example 5HP-592 equals ZF Ecomat II five speed transmission which is capable of receiving 1250 Nm of input torque via the engine's flywheel. Which is generally used on 35-45 foot transit buses.

Differences

Thoughout the years, there has been technological improvements that were made to the transmission

The Ecomat 2

  • New CAN Shift module thus the C after the name
  • New 5HP-602 Verison available using alternative gear ratios (2.81 1.84 1.36 1.00 0.80)
  • Upgraded Electronics

The Ecomat 4

  • Topodyn to regulate shifting based on topograhy - Up until now the Ecomat has been supplied with a pre-set gear points. Using performance settings ranging from Super Economy up to Power. Availible starting in 2008
  • Increased torque on the HP604C
