History
Route 26 Maple Local was introduced on July 2, 2013 as part of restructuring of routes along the Jane Street corridor. It replaced routes 4 and 20 in serving the local roads in the Maple community.
The routing was modified on November 3, 2013 to minimize delays exiting Vaughan Mills, operating via Riverock Gt., Caldari Rd., Locke St., and Creditstone Rd. instead of via Jane St. and Rutherford Rd.
With the opening of the Line 1 subway extension to Vaughan, route 26 was extended south from Vaughan Mills along Edgeley Blvd. to SmartCentres Place, replacing route 35D.
