Virginia Railway Express V421-V430 were 1956 Pullman-Standard Gallery II passenger cars. They were originally delivered to C&NW, and were acquired used from Metra.
The Gallery II cars were repainted into VRE livery, with a dark blue upper half, three white stripes, and a lower red stripe.
