Van Hool T range
The Van Hool T range is a range of luxury motorcoaches available in Europe. Van Hool revealed the new T range to customers on November 17, 2022. The new T range will replace the existing single deck TX range. It is available in multiple lengths with different axle configurations and floor heights. Length is signified by the number of maximum rows of seats available and height is distinguished by a name, with Van Hool bringing back familiar coach model designations.
The exterior was designed with aerodynamics in mind. The wraparound design front and rear with the front lip spoiler serves to avoid as much air turbulence as possible. The fog lights and cornering lights are fully integrated into the smooth design. The integrated fairing fins and roof spoiler serve to also reduce turbulence. The underside of the coach also has a smooth finish to minimize air turbulence there too. T range has new wing mirrors and is optionally available with electronic mirrors.
A new interior design features window framing, seat frames and rails in black with the roof liner above the driver’s area in a light colour and indirectly lit by LED lighting. Overhead parcel racks have increased storage volume. By Placing the racks further to the side there is more space at the aisle. The doors on the racks are now hinged inwards. The T range features a new generation of seats. The seat moves as the backrest is reclined. There is also a weight saving of five to six kilograms per seat.
The driver’s area was redesigned with improved ergonomics and layout. A digital display and an multimedia system with both touchscreen and physical keys are available.
Mobileye supplied Van Hool with its Shield+ safety program. Turning Assist detects vulnerable road users next to the coach and warns the driver if they intend to turn. Pedestrian Collision Warning detects moving pedestrians in front of the coach and warns the driver in the event of an impending collision. Speed Limitation Indication recognises traffic signs with a speed indication and displays them on the dashboard. Traffic Sign Recognition recognises traffic signs. Highway Monitoring Warning warns the driver of unsafe distance to the vehicle in front. Turn Signal Reminder reminds the driver of a direction indicator left on too long.
