History

I grew up in Eastbourne, Sussex with Southdown Motor Services (green & cream) and Eastbourne Corporation (primrose, blue and white). During a visit to Jersey in the Channel Isles, as a six year old, I was surprised that Jersey Motor Transport used my initials on their buses although in an altered order. In 1957 when we moved to Toronto I became interested in the trolleybuses and streetcars, both the PCC and the Witts that were used on Kingston Road during the CNE.

I became interested in trains and did little photography of buses until 2004 when I did some trolleybus photography in Budapest. In 2005 I was able to see more in Vancouver in May and then in Plzen and Ostrava in July. In 2008 I started photographing diesel buses on a regular basis and visited various Ontario cities. In April 2009 I photographed in Bavaria and Czech Republic and September 2009 in Italy in the Veneto, Tuscany and the Südtirol. A planned trip in April 2010 to Vienna, Budapest, Sopron, Szombathely, Bratislava, Linz, Innsbruck and Salzburg was extended by 10 days due to the Icalandic volcano. Trips were also made in June 2011, October 2011 & April 2012

I retired from Ford of Canada in December 1996.

I have photographed in the following countries
