Lansdowne is a SkyTrain station in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Station Details

Located at No. 3 Road and Lansdowne Road, Lansdowne Station provides direct access to Lansdowne Centre, as well as nearby high-density residential developments and numerous commercial areas. In addition, the station provides access to Kwantlen Polytechnic University east of the station. The station derives its name from both the street and the adjacent mall, but as well as the Lansdowne horse racing track, which occupied the Lansdowne Centre site from 1924–1968.

During planning, Lansdowne Station was called Alderbridge[1][2] as the station was originally supposed to be located further north at the intersection of Alderbridge Way and No. 3 Road. The Lansdowne and Alderbridge names were dependent on where the station can be located and there were other name options. They included Richmond Olympic (depending on consultation with the International Olympic Committee for name use) and Lansdowne Road.[3]
