Lake City Way is a SkyTrain station in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Station Details

Lake City Way is a station on the Millennium Line. The station opened on November 21, 2003, a few months after other Millennium Line stations due to construction delays.

In the original plans of the Millennium Line, Lake City Way was to be located on the east side of Lake City Way (instead of its current location on the west side of Lake City Way). Lake City Way was to also include a drop-off area on the east side, but is now located on the west side.

The station serves as a small commuter hub for those who work at the offices of the adjacent Lake City industrial park. Lake City Way also services the nearby residential areas north and south of Lougheed Highway.

As part of TransLink's Proximity Enabled Accessible Entrances project, proximity sensors were installed in October 2017 at all accessible faregates as part of a trial before a system wide installation.

Lake City Way was designed as part of joint consortium between Architectura (now Stantec Architecture) and Walter Francl Architects. The station's angular and dynamic shape represents the nearby railway and surrounding highways. The station won a 2004 Lieutenant-Governor of British Columbia Award and a Canadian Architect Award of Excellence.[1][2]
