29th Avenue is a SkyTrain station in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Station Details

Located at E. 29th Avenue and Atlin Street, adjacent to Slocan Park, the station serves the Renfrew Heights area of Vancouver. The station and the sections of tracks directly west and east are at-grade and follows the old BC Electric Railway Central Park Line right-of-way.

The eastern entrance was a later addition to the station that opened in February 1987 to provide easier connection with buses and passengers living east of the station and linked up with the overhead walkway that opened with the station. Ticket machines were originally not installed at this entrance and access was only for those with valid fares.

North of the station is the German Canadian Heritage Plaza, one of several landscaped plaza projects built along BC Parkway in the mid-1980s during SkyTrain construction. Funding of the plaza construction was through community fundraising, as well as donations from across the province and from Germany. The plaza opened on June 29, 1986.

Upgrade works began on the bus loop in January 2017 and was completed in February 2018. Improvements at the bus loop included new crosswalks, improved lighting, and new glass shelters.
