Tofino Bus Services provides daily inter-city bus and charter service on Vancouver Island, BC.
With their expanded inter-city route network along Vancouver Island, they are also known as Tofino Bus the Island Bus Company.
History
- Estabished in June 2001 by Dylan Green as an 11 passenger van service transporting backpackers to Pt. Alberni, Ucluelet, and Tofino.
- In 2005 Tofino Bus became the school bus operator for Tofino and Ucluelet.
- In June 2006 Tofino Bus was contracted by the District of Tofino to operate a local transit service in Tofino.
- On October 29, 2006 Tofino Bus became a Greyhound interline carrier on this route.
- Expanded to a second intercity route between Victoria and Port Hardy in 2015 after Greyhound discontinued service north of Nanaimo.
- In April 2018, Tofino Bus purchased the Duncan Greyhound terminal and began offering additional local stops with the discontinuation of all Greyhound service on Vancouver Island.
- Acquired by Wilson's Transportation on November 15, 2018. Tofino Bus will continue to operate as a separate company under the Wilson's banner.[1]
