MTR numbers its fleet in the following format: xx(X)XX, where xx indicates the seating capacity, and XX or XXX indicate the vehicle number. The vehicle number is a more-or-less consecutive number assigned to new coaches as they are added to the fleet. For example, 5640 indicates 56 seats and coach number 40; 5288 indicates 52 seats and coach number 88; 79108 indicates 79 seats and coach number 108. With this in mind, and to show the chronological deliveries of new coaches, I think it would be more useful to order the roster according to the last two or three digits of the fleet number. Feedback welcome.
