Route Details

The current routings of routes 561, 562, and 563.

Fast Gratiot services Gratiot Avenue south of North River Road. The branches split at North River Road, with routes 561 and 562 servicing North River Road between Gratiot Avenue and the North River Park & Ride lot, route 562 also servicing Executive Drive, and route 563 remaining on Gratiot to the Chesterfield Meijer store. The routes split again at Warren Avenue/Forest Avenue, with route 562 servicing Warren Avenue between Gratiot Avenue and the Interstate 75 service drive, Forest Avenue between Gratiot Avenue and Dequindre Street, Dequindre Street between Forest Avenue and Warren Avenue, the Interstate 75 service drive between Warren Avenue and Canfield Street, Canfield Street between the Interstate 75 Service Drive and Wooodward Avenue and Woodward Avenue between Canfield Street and Warren Avenue. Service on Route 562 is provided during peak/rush hours on weekdays only.

History

January 1, 2018 - Routes introduced.
January 9, 2018 - Due to the implementation of bike lanes on Cass Avenue, Route 562 is diverted to Woodward Avenue to the Warren station on the northbound side of Woodward, and the Putnam bus stop on the southbound side. Meijer Gas Station and Vergote stations open.
April 2, 2018 - Several stations are renamed.
August 6, 2018 - Meijer P&R station opens.
January 7, 2019 - The Woodward Avenue reroute for Route 562 is made permanent.
June 21, 2021 - Route 562 extended to Executive Drive in Harrison Township.
July 14, 2021 - Articulated buses begin operating on Fast Gratiot.
