200 Michigan Avenue Local is a bus route operated by the Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation in metropolitan Detroit, Michigan, United States.

Route Details

The current routing of route 200. This map also shows the current routing of route 280.

This route primarily services Michigan Avenue east of John Hix Road. Two branches separate at Michigan Avenue and Wayne Road, with the other branch primarily servicing Wayne Road between Michigan Avenue and Cherry Hill Road and Cherry Hill Road between Wayne Road and Newburgh Road. This route also services Fairlane Town Center. During peak/rush hours on weekdays only, this route continues past Fairlane Town Center to downtown Detroit.

Route 200 shares most of it's entire length with Fast Michigan.

History

  • January 17, 1989 - Service carried on by SMART.
  • December 12, 2011 - Due to systemwide service cuts, outside of peak/rush hours on weekdays only, service now terminates at Fairlane Town Center.
  • September 2, 2019 - A new eastbound late night trip is added, departing Newburgh and Enterprise at 12:45 a.m. and ending at Michigan and Schaefer at 1:23 a.m. This trip bypasses Fairlane Town Center and intends to serve as a connection to overnight service on Detroit Department of Transportation routes 1 and 2.
