Sound Transit Central Link
This light rail operation is currently under contract to King County Metro the ownership of the line is Sound Transit. This light rail goes from University of Washington Station to Angle Lake Station.
Route Details
The routes goes from University of Washington Station, via Seattle, Beacon Hill, Rainier Valley, Sea-Tac Airport to get Angle Lake Station.
This route shares the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel with King County Metro buses and ST Route 550 buses.
This line will have a future connection to East Link.

History
- July 18, 2009 - Service starts from Westlake Station to Tukwila International Boulevard Station.
- December 19, 2009 - Service starts from Tukwila International Boulevard Station to SeaTac / Airport Station.
- March 19, 2016 - University link extension opened for service. Added Capitol Hill Station and University of Washington Station.
- September 24, 2016 - Angle Lake Station opened for service.
Future
Central Link light rail currently has extensions to Northgate, Bellevue, Redmond, Lynnwood, Everett, Kirkland, Issaquah, Ballard, West Seattle, Federal Way, and Tacoma underway.

When light rail extends to Overlake in 2023, Link will add line colors. Angle Lake to Northgate will become the red line, and Northgate to Overlake will be the blue line. When the West Seattle extension opens the current corridor will be split into two different lines. SODO Station south to Federal Way will become the Green Line. SODO station north to Northgate will become the Red Line

Vehicles
The trains are maintained in site near the SODO Station using Kinkisharyo LRV numbered 101-135, and 136-162.
Sound Transit has ordered 152 Siemens S70 vehicles for its extensions to Northgate, Bellevue, Lynnwood, and Federal Way and to allow Link to operate 4-car trains. The Kinki Sharyo cars and Siemens cars will be able to connect mechanically so they can connect and move stuck trains, however will not be compatible electronically and will not be put in revenue service together. It will also be building two more operations and maintenance facilities (OMF). One will be built in Bellevue between Wilburton and Spring District stations (OMF East) and one in south King County between Kent and Federal Way(OMF South).
